Happening FRIDAY...Dating, Free Movie Ticket & Supper

Watching movie has never been "a thing" we used to do during our courting days as I do not have a passion for that. The only movie that i would support was that of "Jackie Chan's"! As my idol only had ONE(1) movie in a year so it was like only once in a year to the cinema, how boring huh?
But this time, my vendor has given us free tickets to Rush Hour 3....so arrangement was made with grandma to have the boys stay overnight in grandma's house. The movie started at 9pm but there is no way that we could go home for a shower/change, else we will have a hard time getting out of the house!
So, i met huby in KLCC after work. Since it was still early for dinner, again we were attracted to ToysR'Us that has a banner that stated sale with discount up to 70%........

Oh Boy.....once these terrible dady&mumy started to browse toys for the boys, time was nearly overlooked. In the end, we were late to 1U. We were not left with much time for a proper dinner so we just grab something from the light refreshment provided by my vendor.

Since the tickets are on first come first serve basis, we were left with only the 1st row of seating......gosh, what a strain to our eyes!! But since it was free, no complaint lar..........

It was another interesting comedy show put up by Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker.

The show ended around 11pm. We both thought that it was a good Friday for some happening stuffs but after considering all the options we have, we agreed that the only thing we missed was a good supper (since we sort of skipped our dinner earlier)!

After a good long 10-15 mins of 'ronda' in the car, we settled in for some Shanghai snack which by the way is an "in thing"/trend now! The supper we had was so superb.........it was so sumptuous & marvellous !!! Huby said this will be a place that we will surely be back for a second try!

Durian pancake.....definitely would satisfy durian lover..............

Famous Shanghai "siu loong pao" but this was the version with alcohol...........yummy yummy yummy!!

Even the porridge was so smooth.......dun know if that was the result of hungry...............

Ginseng tea......only my huby would take this, my taste bud just couldn't agree to go with this..............instead i rather have the below...........
"Shuet Kap Kou".............frog saliva

Then in less than 1 hour.........we were both dozing off dreaming happily, couldn't be bothered with 'fat' putting on all over our body !!!!

Toys in our minds anyday, anywhere, anytime..........

One of the weekday last week, huby knocked on my office door for a lunch date with me since he's around KL (ya, he hardly comes to KL).

We finally landed ourselves with japanese food.......sushi!

On our way to the restaurant, we passed by Petrosains Centre & something caught our attention. So there we headed in to check things out. It surprises us that there were quite many toys that are not only interesting, creative but also educational in nature. We ended up spending quite a while there & huby was gonna grab more & more toys if not that i'd stop him.........

What surprises us even more was the price which was considered relatively 'cheap' considering the place......i mean Petrosains in KLCC we are talking about!! I reckon that we have been missing out by overlooking this place all these while..............

Here are what we got.............

This toy is suppose to grow (in size) once it is place/soak in water. I think it takes quite a long time to grow to the maximum size. We'd done for 1 night & it had only grew for about 20%. The display in the shop showed that it can grew 10x its' original size wor............that's very big! My boys were very anxious for their nemo fish to grow...............

These sticky balls were nice to squeeze, it gave the little fingers a good muscle training and by touching the balls, one has a very sticky feeling on the skin but it in fact isn't so once you release the ball.........it's a tricky experience for our little toddlers' small mind & brain!!

This is another one of the boys' favourite machine........but this time, it's paperboard type.........they need to crack their mind to read & follow the instruction in order to fully assemble the machine!

After fully accomplished our tasks, we had a piece of mind enjoying our sushi................

Beautiful Lanterns & SUNDAY !

Although it has been many years since I last "PLAY" with lantern..............due to old age lar, I still love to see those beautiful & brightly lighted lantern shimmering the cool dark yet calming sky.
Even in a broad day light, these colourful lanterns still managed to attract much of my attention. Little did I notice time passes real fast as we are approaching the time of the year again to eat moon cake & play lantern........i.e. The Mid Autumn Festival.

Here was what my camera captured this afternoon during our lunch in one of the Jusco store:

It brought back a strong scent of Chinese customary practice............

The moment my boys saw the lanterns.............I can't escaped & was forced dragged to the stalls. Immediately I was hooked up myself & in the end being tempted so much, I couldn't resist buying them.

Despite the younger generation kids prefer these so called more hi-tech lanterns (eg. electronic type power ranger), I still prefer our older generation type of lantern made from colorful plastic paper, where u need to lit up the candle to bring out the beauty of it..........don't you think so???

This evening, we had a good sweat at the park. Lately, everyone in the family was so much into the badminton game. The boys had just picked up the basic skills & working very hard practising while dady & mumy thought this was a good opportunity to make us run & sweat...... as we both are in dire need to work out. Hoping to keep up this habit!

As we were about to reach home, grandma called & asked us to drop by my elder sis new house (which happen to be just across our house). My sis just got the key to her new house & they were to check out the house & discussed a bit about the renovation work which would soon begin.

Since we had earlier prepared the ingredients for our cooking, we did not join them for dinner. Our menu for dinner was just Heng's home-cooked fried rice.
Yeah, it was the recipe of "the man" of the home............

While I was busy exploring PPP, dinner was served.....so, taste doesn't matter anymore.....what more to complaint, eh??

Twins Festival 2007

It was such a torment having to force open our eyes this morning at 7a.m............ on a SATURDAY arghhhhh!! But what to do, as the title denotes: Twins Festival "punya pasal", we must fully support. Having dressed ourselves up, we started to get the boys done & left about 8:15.

Once we arrived, we headed to do registration where i stumbled upon a pair of familiar twin girls.....i reckon it was Carol & Carrie, daughters of 1+2mom (Sylvia). Mumy wasn't besides the girls then, so as I was about to submit d boys' birth certs, i saw Sylvia ahead busy with her registration. I pat her & said hi then finishing with the procedures........

A welcome pack was given to each twin which was accompanied by a set of breakfast which consist of none other than our famous "nasi lemak" & some local "kuih". Other goodies included an orange umbrella, some trial facial mask, discount vouchers & etc.

As huby has a hometown buddy(Vincent & Kim) that brought along their twin boys of 1yr+, we headed to join them first. Jie Hern & Jie Wei

Did some catch up as this was our 2nd time meeting the twins since their birth about a year ago. The "nasi lemak" was easily finished & we spent sometime identifying our respective twins. Vinc's eldest son, Jason is about the same age with my boys so after a while, 3 of them has warmed up & started to have fun.

After a while, i brought my boys to join Carol & Carrie but the boys were shy seeing the "leng lui" so they refused to join, instead their minds strayed back to his dad's group. So my boys left.....yeah very rude, but mumy never give up.........gave them some lectures!!

Then, we walked through the stalls & checked out what was there to offer. The boys insisted to do the sand art & so we let them be.

That's where I saw Sylvia with d girls again wondering about so i quickly pulled all d twins together for a group photo......yeah this time it worked naturally, the lectures were effective & made things worked.
Wow, i couldn't believe the girls looked so much younger but as their mumy said, they are already reading Book 9.............& my boys still at 6, hehehe lazy mumy here........

This young mumy was such an easy person to get along with. Our common 'aunty' topics instantly kicked start our conversation.

Later, i saw a crowd began to build up........then i came to know it was the first event that was about to begin = The Twins' Parade.

So, I walked over to the crowd knowing there will be something that would attract my camera. Yeah, the centre of attraction was the quadruplets (3 boys & 1 girl) belonging to a Malay couple. I have to agree that it was fun, cute & nice to see them but definitely not when you have to care for them !!!
Boy....boy....boy.......nice to see but not nice to touch ehh????

Soon the twins' parade started & our eyes were flashed by so many many similar faces, passing by in doubles..........
This was the first time I found myself having a very great sense of belonging & absolutely no unnecessarily attention ........bcoz everyone was having a pair, no big deal & so certainly nothing abnormal/unusual.....yeah yeah !!

After the parade, we started to feel the sun warming. Since we did not intend to stay for the talent show & there isn't much left to explore so huby decided to leave. Vinc's family had left much earlier. And so we have no idea what was the total number of twins that turned out. But luckily, there were others who are more patience. Sylvia mentioned that a new Malaysia Book of Record was set with over 250 pairs attented the festival this time. Maybe later the media would confirm the number.

Kudos to the organiser, it was great being part of the event.

Immune System running weak

On a usual account, when the immune system is running weak, it means "sickness" is visiting.......
The twins were troubled by cough, running nose/flu which usually don't really bothered us too much EXCEPT if that resulted in fever!!!! Touch wood & thank god......complying with my wish, they dare not visit..........!!!

When the sickness are just the common cold, we (particularly huby) would be reluctant to visit the Dr. as huby did not want them to take those common cold medicine perscribed by GP/Paed. Ever since we became aware, studied & understood the Nutritional Immunology Science, we concur to the fact that "normal common colds" can be caused by million/billion type of viruses/bacterias. So, to attack these many types of virus/bacteria would mean many different types of medicines would be involved as solution.. so to speak. That's why I would absolutely agreed with the paed. that once informed us that it was impossible for medical science to detect all these viruses and the medicines that provide effective solution.

Hence, a question raised in my naive mind then.....what are the effectiveness of those medicine usually perscribed for common cold?????

The paed. told me, those medicines were only to provide temporary solution to ease the uncomfortable feelings encountered during the cold episode i.e.
- to soothe the itchy throat due to frequent cough,
- to dissolve the phlegm that constantly result in coughing,
- to unblock the runny nose which resulted in one breathing thru d mouth hence, easier for infection & many many more temporary solution.
One would argue that if the medicine could ease so much, why hesitate?

But did you ever ponder if the medicine is really effective? Which simply means once you've recovered, does that means that the cough & flu will not come back again.
Answer is of course NO. In fact even adults like us having live for like 30 over years, would still occassionally be contaminated by the virus and caught up with these common colds.

So what's the down sides of consuming these so-called temporary solution medicine?
It's important to know that consuming these medicine during these "common cold" would interrupt the immune syst which was then working very hard to fight against the virus.
Hence, the next time the same virus visit again, the immune syst would not be able to detect it & sickness will follow suit because it didn't successful in fighting over the virus the last time around. And the cycle comes & go.........

So, the nutritional immunology science stated that only if the human's immunology systems (which consists of 5 parts) are in a strong condition, then it would be able to fight against the virus that attacks the body!! The studies & findings of this science are too complicated & detailed to pen down here.........by a 'layman' like me...........
Anyhow, it managed to convince my huby so much (to a certain extend, myself also), we trust the science and so we invested quite a hefty sum in these nutritional products for the twins since they were 2-3 years old when their immune system was at its' lowest point.

Here is what my boys would consume during their normal cold episode.............
The cactus juice is very superior in taste & not second to any other. The other 2 bottles are tablets in powder form........very very yucky!! I just have to mix the powder with the juice & get the boys to gulp down quickly!!

Besides that, occassionally i would believe in this tradisional chinese herbal tea too........
Seen here are barley & some other herbs......

Use double boiler & boil under slow fire for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, it looks like this.............

After added some honey, i do believe it soothes the throat even if only a little.............herbal tea/leong char!!

NOTE : The above comments & practices are entirely the personal opinion of the writer. It was neither a sponsored post nor am i selling anything. It was only meant for additional reference (if applicable).
We benefited from it, so we hope the rest would also gain a little, if not more!!
If you are ever in doubt, check it out at www.eexcel.net as only YOU could convince yourself.

Good Luck.......to fighting against cold viruses sssssssss!!

Twins punya affair lar..............

It was both happy & sad.........but we definitely felt more for the sad side!!
Immediately upon reaching home, my younger twin Scot run to us yelling & shouting about him having his "Book 6". It took me a while to digest what was happening too. And finally I came to realise that it was one of his English Reading Series.

Accordingly, i suppose the kid must have been able to satisfy their teacher with the ability to master reading a book of a certain level before promoting to next level. So this little Scot was tested on reading a para about a doggy stories in Book 5 where he successfully passed the test, hence he was given a start on his Book 6. That whole night, Scot repeatedly read that doggy stories for us.....he was proud of himself as much as we did.......yeah kid has their ego too!
Unfortunately, not every kid would progress at the similar pace & so the elder twin, Sean was still hanging with his Book 5.

Just when Scot was so happily hipping & hopping around showing off his Book 6, Sean ran to his dady & said the following:
Dady, teacher never give me Book 6 wor..........because teacher said i cannot read !!! Boy boy...............believe me, Sean looks seriously sympathy, upset, down & this time around, it really broke his dady's heart!!
Huby instantly exchanged stares with me...........knowing him i already expected his feelings. Then we quickly told Sean that teacher just forgot to give him & tomorrow teacher will give the book to him. On our way back after dinner, dady reminded me to talk to teacher which i absolutely agreed.

To top up on that, this little fella, Scot has this annoying attitude of verbally abusing his elder brother. He likes to 'ejek'/bully his brother & said something like:
Neh neh poo poo......i have my book 6, u cannot read so teacher don't give u book 6!!!
He could repeat & repeat showing his evil faces until Sean scream & exchanges of blow between them started.

As agreed, after i explained the whole situation of the monkeys' affairs at home, their teacher nodded in understanding & promised to give Sean his Book 6. Tapping on the opportunity, their teacher also commented that Scot often teased & disturbed Sean in the class too. Teacher even added that my Scot ranks No. 1 in the class with his "teng chui"/retaliate skills when being scolded or confronted !!! slap slap slap forehead lol........
I think Sean couldn't wait to show dady & mumy after he got his Book 6. When the moment arrived, we could see the real happiness in his face when he lauded & showing his Book 6 happily to both his parents!! Kids need their boost of confident too.............

How i miss their angelic looks & behaviours those daysssssssssss.............!!!!!?????
