We are MOVING away .....

Hope the title didn't " GOTCHA "

Nope, not moving house, not moving overseas, still slaving around ....

Just that my blogspot is about to explode anytime, yes i've used up 85% of the allocated free space!! That was the result of being such a lazy dude....i uploaded all my photos directly from the camera without whatsoever adjustment, every single piece is above 1MB...damn it!! So before i ended up having to salvage the explosive, i better get a new home !!! Don't know which idi*t snatched my .com domain so i've got to be contended with .net instead.

Here you go, please welcome to my new virtual home.....i promised to put you in a SMILE with my newly created header !!! enjoy....

Orientation, Primary School Begins & Bento...

There will be a super long 'rojak' updates next, so better get this fix first.

We being the 'new parents' to primary schoolers finally had the FEEL of what it tastes like.... of the "havoc morning rush for school" !!

I had initially doubted & got angry why our "cleber govt" imposed such an early time to begin the primary school session, but after giving a thought over the time an ordinary working 'slave' (as if i'm not) needs to report to work (which is like around 8-9am), i turned wiser & be more acceptable of this routine!

Gotta got up latest by 6a.m. & got myself ready in 25 minutes. Then hopped over to the boys' bed with uniforms and started to give them 'ALARM' with my noisy voices (helo...morning boys...wake up edi...going to school...yr friends waiting to see you...bla bla bla...)

By the time i finished changing them, they would have been woken up...then gotta dragged them down to brush teeth (a very quick one though), wipe their face to freshen them, comb, drink a cup of either honey/milo/water!
Very quickly they will be asked to put up their socks & shoes while i had my final pack of things before leaving the house amidst the dark sky still at 6:50 a.m.....crazy !!!

Here are the boys putting on their shoes
Scot got very annoyed with the flash & mommy shooting him .......kakaka

here's the zombie look of Sean

And a 'force' smile from Scot.....haha

By the time we defeated the terrible traffics & settled at the school compound it was nearly 7:20am though the entire journey approximately 7km should only took us 10mins to arrive!!

The bell rings at 7:30 sharp.

Here are the boys gushing hurriedly into their classroom.............like 'tai kor' coming.....
apparently eager to meet their friends!!

How are they doing in school???

See below ...... it was Scot. What do you think happened?? Crying??...whining??

... NAH ...

He was just reluctant to be snapped by the camera!!

But too bad, blame it on having a blogger mummy lor.......LOL.

My monkeys WERE (according to my judgement) indeed monkeys of the class......!!
Both of them just couldn't care less, thus walking & running about in the classroom disturbing their 'gang' of friends (as if they have known for ages) while i can see other angelic boys & girls that sat quietly on their respective chairs. Apparently the class teacher was busy handling the parents over the students' affairs on the first 2 days of school & can't bother much !!
Scot seen transforming his new pencil case (bought from HK, Disneyland) into a "gun-like toy" & started playing it as one with his classmates!!
The teacher has arranged the boys to seat next to girls for obvious reason we all know. And my Scot was placed at the last row of seat which i would have to 'talk' to his teacher one day (if the need arises), should he ever behaves like a monster at the back, he better be transferred to the front for a good watch by the teacher!!

I really sympathies the quiet & shy little girl who sat next to him lor....hopefully this monkey won't bully her so much.....sigh !!!

Here's Sean ..... looking a little more innocent than his cheeky lil brother but certainly not much better !!!

Being still a new comer plus given only an allowance of 20minutes for recess time, i got really freak out thinking of getting my boys to queue & buy food for themselves!! As if there will be earthquake if another 10 more minutes are given for the recess time......at least 30minutes should be more appropriate lar!
So being the 'kiasi' mom, i signed up for the meal package for the boys. RM40 per month per head. Each kid will be given a number which will be sticked on the table where food will be served when the kids arrived at meal time. The menu list of the meal has quite a lot of varieties too, much to my pleasure.

Hence, i should be spared of preparing bento for them i thought. But after the first 2 days, even my mom also advised me to keep 'some snack' in their bag as their meal time is 9:30 in the morning, and by 1:30pm when school finishes, both of them were screaming in hunger!! Yet, my mom said they would still have to bear being caught in the heavy traffic jam for at least 1/2 hour before reaching home for lunch around 2pm.......poor boys!! So having some simple snacks in their bag at such time would certainly ease their growling stomachs!!
But it would be tough to think of what food that still made good snacks after enduring at least 5 hours in the lunch box!! So for the time being, i could only think of bread so i made use of the various bread cutters newly bought recently!!

A Milo wafer, a peanut butter & kaya wholemeal sandwich in stitch shaped, 2 cubes of cheese & some sultanas in the little container !!!

The next day has similar snacks too ..... but this time using the mickey shaped seaweed as decor!! Ooh ya....the Madagascar bento set (by Tupperware) was newly purchased from
Peggy (LaundryAmah)!!

Ooh ya, the boys attended a holiday camp of 10 days in their new school during the school holiday. It was more like a tuition & revision actually. I'm glad that the boys' language skills in Bahasa were very much brushed up in this camp. Especially with their current 'kakak' that only speaks bahasa to them, the boys' picked up the language pretty fast surprisingly this time around. After the 10 days lesson in school, they came back kept humming in a bahasa song!!

check out what they sang !!!
i was hidden behind at the kitchen when i captured this video of the boys in action !!!

So far so good, i'm very much pleased with the environment & atmosphere of this brand new government school of 2 years!! All i hope is that the teacher would be patience enough to guide & teach my hyperactive & naughty boys!!
Seems a good start, no cry, no tears, no fuss.....**someone beaming in pride**....hehe

Happy Schooling boys !!

Our Surprise for them .....

I mentioned earlier that i will be giving the boys a SURPRISE for their birthday this year! Well, it wasn't exactly one as i did told them earlier what i'm getting but hearing & seeing the real thing was somehow different i would say!!

Last year, we celebrated their 5th b'day at Megakidz and thought we would gave that a pass this year (as in having to do with all those invitations & etc). Instead, since it was their final year in the kindy, we thought why not let them celebrate with their classmates!! So MISSION was set (i.e. celebration in school), next was to set a GOAL, that is to get the boys as well as their friends
" to thrill with excitement " !!

After discussing with the principal, we chose the school's Party Day as the date so as not to interrupt any lesson!!
Both the boys as well as myself had been waiting for the day to arrive for weeks......only to be greeted with 2 sicked boys !!! Scot had the bad cough few days back & by the time it was celebration, Sean caught the bugs from his lil brother!! Thk god no fever though!
I was actually worried for the rest of kids there, who would have high tendency of bringing back the bugs....sorry guys....plans can't be changed !!
if u noticed that wet patch on sean's pant, it was the mark left after his vommit....yuck!!

Scot all GEARed up to go ......

See my BEN10 boys below, not just dressed up in the Ben10 shirt but together with his Omnitrix watch, SCOT was caught surrounded by the boys who got very curious with his watch !!!

And guess Sean just wasn't in the mood. Btw, i've got no idea how & why he ended up sitting around the girls.......ngek ngek ngek!!As it was a Party Day, the kids were encouraged to dress up in their party costumes as well as to bring some food to share with their friends!! Check out below the generous & kind parents of today....the amount of foods contributed were more than sufficient & literally saved the teachers from serving any food on that day!!

NOW, what's SEAN & SCOT's contribution on that day??
Wanna make a guess ???

BIRTHDAY CAKES la !!

How was that?? Would your kids get thrilled just as much as mine??
Which kid wouldn't heh .....

And yes, for those who has been following HER WORKS, i'm sure you could've recognised her already. It was the work of the talented, creative & cute dearie SU YIN !!
Her site has much better photos of the cakes !!
Arghh....isn't she awesome & a God sent talent??

I'm pretty sure anyone who has a cake made out of her hands on a birthday would certainly have a long lasted memory of the occassion!!
What i'm particularly impressed was not just the outcome of her production, it was her professional attitude, dedication, commitment to work that made her so outstanding....not forgetting despite such tender age of hers!! In fact, it made me 'reflect' a little of what made up of myself when i was her age......hahaha (obviously i was barely there yet)

After receiving my inquiry, Su almost instantly responded with a phone call. We spoke & i must admit that i was kinda surprise that she actually asked to 'meet' to discuss more details......well, am sure you would understand as it was after all only a 'cake-order'.
But as i had quite an expectation on the outcome of the cake plus lots of queries were running in my mind then, i thought to myself, it might be a good idea to meet & discuss things out!
So we met in my office and Su even gave me a rough sketch of the production......suddenly i giggled to myself....as if it was a 'big business' that we were dealing, hahaha.
But somehow, come to think of it, isn't this the kind of hospitality that we would expect out of today's service industry??? After our quick chat to finalize things up, Su & her partner Emily made their move & there i was left with full anticipation of the masterpiece!!

Now SU, be assured that the boys LOVE the cakes big time, both my huby & I were tremendously impressed, my sister & BIL were astonished, the teachers were amazed and the kids' chaos were a proved too!!
A Great Job & we appreciated the memories you left us !!

*** Here is Su arranging the cupcakes ***

A clear & sharp snap of Scot, courtesy of SU (arghh....good camera is so significant eh)

I'm not exactly sure if the boys were really giving a hard time to Emily with questions....haha

*** Here's one with their class teacher, Ms Estee ***

Once the cakes were ready, i felt that our (the parents) presence were somehow giving a little tense to the party atmosphere. So we decided that we should settled things off & let the kids enjoy the party without interference from the parents/adults!!
I quickly got the principal to say a few words & announce the birthday! And that's when the B'day Song was sang, followed by the candles blowing!! Had that recorded down.

(btw, i learnt a lesson too that day....*** The 9 Aliens *** but the kids still beat me in remembering these names, LOL)

When i went back an hour later to pick up the boys, it was dismissal time and i didn't get a chance to talk to the principal ! I actually wanted to check out if there was really nothing left over from the cakes........ haha so 'kiasu'....... yalor coz i haven't got d chance to taste it leh !!!

Since the principal didn't caught up with me, i thought it must have gone finished. I asked the boys if all the cakes were finished and they said teacher kept the 2 omnitrix watch cakes!! I was puzzled & regretted that i didn't grabbed a piece with me before i left so that i could at least taste it .....I left with dissapointment!

That afternoon, we had our lunch at 1U and that's when i received a call from the principal asking if i would like to take back the 'sugar dough' base of BEN....even the teacher also mentioned that i should keep it....for more photography or share with family members!! And she also informed that she has kept the 2 bigger watch cakes as the children were more interested with the elaborated cupcakes!! Deep beneath me, i was so delighted with that information & without any hesitation, i said yes, i'll be dropping by to collect them.........yippee!!

Yes, in the end i got to taste your cake, SU!
There isn't a single doubt in giving you a good rating over the TASTE of the cake.

After having his first bite, my 'nasty lou kung' even extended out his hand with the piece of cake close to my vision trying to tell me how a moist & fluffy cake should look & taste as he used to complaint that the cake i baked was too dry (hey how could he compared me to a prof, rite??!!)

Here a nice shot with this young enterpreneur!!

During the weekend, the boys cough episode left them with loads of phlegm and so they had the nuberliser session at night in the clinic!! The baby next door who was also on nuberliser was wailing at the top of his lung but my silly boys thought that the session was fun .....
aikk, sot chor !!!

Finally, i ended the post with a video of the birthday song singing session by Sean's & Scot's schoolmates !!!

*** A MEMORABLE OCCASION IT WAS ***

How Time Flies ....... we are Graduating !!

Aiya....graduating nursery only ma, cheh!! How i wish it was their UNI graduation that i just attended. Gotta eat more "tai tao choi" first la....life where got so easy rite??

Anyway, it was a Sat, one day before our party at home, the boys were asked to be sent to the school at 11:30 am for a makeover before we get to meet them again at the concert hall at 2:30pm. The venue this time was the MAS Academy training centre in Kelana Jaya.

That means dady & mumy had at least 2&half hour to 'lepak' around, so what did we do? Of course we had a peaceful brunch session of dim sum at Oriental Jaya33. We had a great browse at the supermarket too. Then i even managed to get a quick hair cut in SS2.

When we finally arrived, the hall was nearly 80% occupied!! So we only managed to get a side seat.
Here is a snapshot of the stage !!

The children gave another amazing yet amusing entertainment to the audiences. The videos of the boys' performance had already been posted earlier here.

After the various performances was the highlight of the event, i.e. the 6 years old graduation.
This year, it was really a big dissapointment to me as the school didn't hire any professional photographer to do the job! Instead only a professional video recording has been done! I don't really understand why but all the principal said was there were lots of problems in the prior years with photography. Most parents failed to observe the rules that forbid them from going up to the stage for photography!! So we were told to do the job ourselves.....arghh....
with our 'lao yah" camera & skills, i don't expect much!!

Then i made another silly mistake of pushing my lou kung up to shoot the photos. As the front area was quite pack (due to all the kiasu'sm attitudes of today's parents), huby didn't managed to get a good spot. Worst thing of all, he didn't expect & wasn't prepared that his beloved son, Sean was the very FIRST student that was being called upon to receive the scroll !! Dang !!
Sei for....camera not focusing properly, the position he was standing also not very strategic..... some more the 'fei lou' had difficulty squatting there to shoot!!!
So he missed shooting a decent one of Sean ..... so sad, and yes i blamed him!!

Anyway, here are the best that he had of SEAN.

Then we waited quite a while before it was Scot's turn. Btw, it was purely a random arrangement & had got nothing absolutely to do with academic results, if that was what it was based on, my boys will surely stand among the few last lot !!!

Obviously, SCOT has better shots.

The GROUP photo.

No doubt, the chosen venue was indeed a good spot to host these bunch of pre-schoolers!! The boys had a crazy time running around the displayed aeroplanes and everywhere they landed themselves, they had the chance to scream to their friends' names with the parents all mumbling: "ooh this is sean & this is scot ahh".....cute

These 2 shots are so valuable as both huby & I had so 'hard' a time in catching them for a few seconds of photography with their proud mom......hehe!!

Having done such great "hair-do" and "make-up" on the kids, how could the adults let go of the opportunity to 'earn' back some income by shooting some so-called professional portrait of the kids.....knowing that 'kiasu' parents of today would die-die also 'pong chan' / buy wan la....
And i won't deny i'm one of them too.....haha

Well, i would say these decent shots are simply priceless knowing that it was near impossible for ME to get my kids to LISTEN & POSE like the below!!!

my little ah beng, SEAN !!

Here's my ' samseng '/' fey chai ', SCOT !!

End of show time ..... back to reality, continue to work hard.....
Have a good Sunday !!

Milestones.....truly amazing !!

Yes....yes....yes....! The boys already cycled on 2 wheels............in fact they began mastering it now!! If i'm not mistaken, it was less than 2 weeks ago when they still 'chicken out' to try cycling on 2 wheels! And i'm not actually here to report how amazing being able to cycle....it was the mother nature's instinct in kids that made the picking up of the skills so fast....without us even realising!! One minute we were still thinking that they are way too young to coordinate their muscles & mind for that, the other minute they already achieved it before we even manage to blink our eyes !!

Guess only the parents could feel this when it happens to their own flesh & blood..... and thru this, i could now relate better to what lzmommy has encountered recently with her daughter's achievement!

Scot in action......

Next is Sean .....

Despite our excitements now, i knew that in no time, i'll be worrying about how they do their 'stunts' with the bicycle (like 'sou corner' here & there & speeding like a headless chicken) on the road!! Hopefully, the 2 'samseng' will not give me sleepless nights.....

Yet, we r still proud of u guys.....

The BOYS & our recent dining exploration....

Yes, i admit that I've been diverting my focus on post relating to food, cooking & baking a lot lately thus neglecting updates on the boys, did u miss my hansem ahh....??

One of the things that the boys missed a lot during their visits back to their dad's hometown was the possibility to experience motorbike riding!! Boys being boys, they just love the rides be it an offer from the grandpa or from his 'suk-suk'/uncle (BIL). As much as i enjoy seeing the excitement & happiness glowing from their smiles, but deep beneath my me, my heart was pumping fast each time they got into the rides, indicating a feeling of worry & fear as there were no helmets....yes, absolutely no safety!! How can i not worry?? But the thing is, at times, the grandpa just whipped them off his bike like that .........i mean......... even if I'm not so willing, what can i do.....sigh!! Thank god, there is "no-such-thing" as riding motorbike here in PJ/KL. In fact, I'd been planting an impression on them that riding motorbike is a forbidden thing to do here........hahaha. Call me paranoid...but yes, i don't think i will allow my kids to ride motorbike when they reach teenage hood !!!

.

Scot & Sean riding pillion on 'ah kung' bike.....

On the other hand & having said the above, we encouraged the boys to learn cycling their bicycle on TWO wheels recently!! Isn't that conflicting?? I find it yes but I can't understand myself too....

The two balancing wheels of their bicycle has gotten spoilt recently & huby decided that we should just took them off & train them on two wheels. Initially, both of them 'chicken out' but these few days, i could see that Sean has picked up the guts to try cycling with 2 wheels thou he still couldn't balance well.

Sean trying.....

Below are some children's curtains material i grabbed when we went back to Alor Setar recently. Ever since the boys' room has been refurbished recently, the window was in need of new curtains to suit the change in its' size. And I have not been able to source some good print with good price here so knowing that AS has very cheap offer, i went hunting for them. This was the first time we left the boys with their grandparents at home and both huby & I went 'phak thor' doing some cheap buying .....It didn't disappoints me at all. There were so many colourful & interesting choices all of which cost only RM2.00+/- per meter..... oh dear, where to find here....? Now, my next mission is to kick my butt off to measure the window & crawl over to the tailor to get them done !!!

At the age of 5+, i considered the boys lucky to have travel to quite a number of states locally and also travelled to HK, Bangkok & K.K. So naturally, they adapt to hotel stays very well, in fact lately they started to show enjoyment with extreme eagerness & were full of anticipation each time they knew that they are about to have another hotel stay!! It was so obvious during our recent stay at the Northam Suite, Penang. Both of them were fighting to get their hands on the door key. And the moment the door was ajar, both of them were screaming & jumping about thrilling so much.....

Again we were lucky this time, our standard room was upgraded to suite room as they run out of king size bed for the standard category despite my specific request during reservation. So guess they have got no choice but to upgrade our room. So for the same price, we got an amazing offer. Lets take a look....

See how big was the living area....

The king size bed .......

Big bathroom with full jacuzzi service....

My monkeys enjoying themselves in the jacuzzi together with mumy.....soli, kenot appear in camera !!!

With such a good & cozy ambiance, it was a heavy decision for me to retire that night..... no, i won't just sleep like that ('ng seh tak farn ahh')! Despite the boys retiring quite late, i continued to enjoy the quiet moment after the 3 boys/man were in their dreamland. I made a nice hot nescafe to sip in front of the TV and god knows how heaven those moments were for me esp. when the hotel offered ASTRO Wah Lai Toi channel. In fact the pleasures resulted in me fallen asleep in the living sofa until 3a.m. before i dragged myself to the bed......

~~~ Our recent dining exploration ~~~
On the only night in Penang, my eldest SIL treated us to a seafood dinner by the beach side. A totally new place for both huby & I. Probably the place is popular only to local Penangites. It took about 35-40 minutes drive from penang city. The place is called Gertak Sanggul, (a fishing village situated in a lagoon between the South-Western tip and the South-Eastern tip of Penang island), the Chinese name of this village is literally "Beautiful Lake". It was indeed a good place for local tourist like us.......you get to walk by the beach & enjoy the beautiful sunset before proceeding to dine a superb seafood!
Check out the restaurant behind.....it was 'people mountain people sea' on a sunday.
The twins were enjoying the swing under the tree.....
Sean with Jewel cheh-cheh....
Scot d 'tai-kor'........
Ooh ya....nearly forgottent to give a review of the food. It was marvellous. Delicious food, very generous portion & reasonable price too! But remember, SIL said you need to make reservation & get the dishes pre-order, else it will easily take you more than an hour wait!
.
Last weekend during my dad's b'day dinner, Angus (my 4th sister's huby) suggested to bring us to a dinner at Bukit Tinggi, where he claimed the rest. serve very unique dishes!! Before Angus became our family member, my huby used to be the "sik kar" (food expert) of the family but that title has since been taken over by Angus..... this 'fei chai' is really damn good with food. So being natural food appreciator, all of us agree with the plan except my eldest sis family. Mic was on duty so she can't joined too. So together with my parents & youngest sis, all in 7 adults plus my 2 mickeys squeezed into our 7-seater MPV and off we departed at 5pm on Sunday!
We now call it the "umbrella restaurant" as you can see below, guess it was the signature display of the restaurant. Actually, i've came across this restaurant being mentioned by wen before. Apparently, huby checked that the restaurant was operated by Chinese people from "Kong Sai-China"........, so the food was also of 'Kong Sai' style....
The 2 'fei lou' were checking on the menu.....
While the men do the 'job', we went to explore the garden beside the rest. There were vegetables & fruits being home-grown...wonder if they were organic!! Sean with Teng yi-yi & Maggie yi-yi...
Sorry....for drooling you with food again......
Sweet & juicy pork.....verdict: was good !!
One of the signature dish. On the top layer were mixture of clams, prawns & crabs, all steam with wain stock. Very fresh. Bottom layer consist of the wain soup which was later used to cook some vegetables. We all got so full finishing till the very last drop of the soup...... verdict: very unique way of cooking!
Stew lamb. Actually all of us ladies aren't lamb eater but we did gave a bite to try this, it doesn't really has that strong milky/'sou' taste that we rejected so it was ok for us...
The fish was a tad disappointed though. The name was 'si-beh' 'canggih' i tell you: "shuet san fei wu"......hahaha !! But as it was merely steam probably to preserve the freshness of it, the fish was tasteless to most of us. Guess we were too accustom to having strong gravy on our dishes!
Arghhh.....after the meal, we got to drive all the way back to the city which took us 45 mins, was it really worth the travel?? Well, i would say it really depends on individual preference. Angus thought the foods there were uniquely cooked, none of which could be eaten here in the city so obviously it was worth the drive for him. Btw, he was a frequent visitor there.... :( But for the rest, esp. mom has beg to differ, probably they didn't really know how to appreciate the uniqueness in this regards! And i guess the negative decision was partly affected by the high price too. The dinner cost us about RM350 poorer....
One more thing worth mentioning was that apparently the chef from China can't read so the dishes on the order slip needs to be "DRAWN" in symbols they understand....check out below, so funny hor..........!!!
Anyhow, it was a great family get-together as we cheered ourselves in the car all the way up the hill !! Let me share with you a hillarious conversation with the boys that got everyone choke-on laughing:
Sean was grumpy all the way up as he was hungry! So even after mumy explained, he continued to be noisy & kept pressing dady to drive faster! So as usual mumy has no patience. Mumy told sean that dady can drop him off the road side & he can run as fast as he could if he still claims that dady was slow. Mumy even asked Sean if he wants to catch a taxi himself?? Of course that agitated Sean a lot. Sean started rejecting mumy & said he wants only kakak instead. Then mumy reminded Sean that he claimed that kakak is smelly, then in retaliation, Sean has no more choice .......... guess what his next statement was?
