"GREEN" home........

After stay put with the current decor of our home which aged approximately 2 years ++, i felt a bit bored! I always have a passion with interior decor of house so it is no doubt that i have the urge & need to constantly change ...... even it's only a little here & there !!!

Suddenly i felt that my house needed some "GREEN & NATURAL" lives.......... yes yes yes, i want some green plant IN my house. All this while, i prefer fake flowers/plant due to easy management & maintenance! But interest changes with time.................

So this afternoon when I had the chance to sneak out again by myself, i dropped by at a nearby nursery to check out plants that are simple & not too leafly.......and must be able to survive without much sunlight, without soil instead only with those "jelly" for water............

Here are what i got in the end............it boost my moods!!

YOU looked so beautiful.............i just hope that you could survive longer under the care of "my hands", hehe!!

Mixed Flavour on Saturday night

If you could remember, huby bought home the "rice spring roll skin" from Hanoi recently.......... and so the consequence is.........he has to cook lar coz the wife only know how to eat!!! He became more than happy to cook bcoz my parents accepted his invitation to try his cookings! On the other hand, my parents became excited after huby misled/bluff them of the yummy Vietnamese snack that he can cook.............hehehe !

Below was the Vietnamese style spring roll. It was definitely more healthy..............
The content of the wrap was chicken floss, prawn, mee hoon, green lettuce with......"hoi sin" sauce or sour chillie sauce !

And the wrapping process..... in the making !!!

Here's the final product................emmm, very nice wor, everyone said !!!

Besides this interesting appetizer, our main meal was totally of another flavour. Since we still have a packet of the Sarawak laksa "paste" in our shelf (also bought by huby in S'wak), so huby cooked that...........It was his first time cooking this though he had eaten it many many times. So it is obvious that he was trying his luck. Cut story short, check out the outcome................

Slurpp slurpp leh?? Not just looked nice..........taste also NOT BAD at all. Yes, luck was with him..... he happy, we got more "hau fook" !!!

But we also cooked some Malaysian fried rice............supposingly for the boys but my ego man hinted to me to cook slightly more.......apparently just in case his laksa failed wor............yeah, he wasn't confident that his laksa was going to work and so he had wanted this to be the "back up" so as the guests would not be ended up eating something awful...........bwahahaha !!!

So in the end, we had a satisfying dinner.......everyone had their stomach overloaded & taste fulfilled with mixed flavours...............yeah, good job lou kung !!!

HANOI Souvenirs by my "Si Lai lou kung"..............

Huby just came back from his Hanoi vacation. As usual i would have expected him to return with some interesting discoveries!! And being a "good eater", food is normally on the top of his list of things to explore. Apparently, he was quite dissapointed with his eating encounterings over there. Reason was simply because Vietnamese Food in our country has been "LOCALISED" so much to the extend of pleasing our taste bud so much!! In particular he loves Vietnamese beef noodles a lot especially those we tried in Australia! So tapping on these experience, he had high expectations on the "original" vietnamese food he would be able to try in the country itself. Unfortunately, he was so badly let down. According to him, the food there was totally different in taste from what we could eat here. And there wasn't much specialities that was impressive!

One unique scene he noticed was people there are keen with low table & chair for dining... like the below, similar to the Japanese style!!

Having said that, he still managed to grab some stuffs that bear signature association to Vietnam such as:

1) Rice spring roll skin

2) Lotus seed paste biscuit

3) FINALLY...........the FAMOUS "VIETNAMESE COFFEE"

This silly man of mine even went to the extend of buying the special cup that filter the coffee powder and drip the coffee dot by dot.........so damn slow...........the Vietnamese style !!! Tonite we brewed our first cup & i must said it tasted .........."SO COFFEE", strong essence with mild bitterness (thou i'm not a real coffee drinker), so much better than those that cost RM10 bucks a cup......u know which i mean, don't u?? Hopefully this "TRY" will not land me as an addict.......!!!

Ah ha.......floating market ehh?? Our kids would love to follow us doing marketing if we have this around..............

Our very own creation of Hair styles!!

Out of sudden, Scot came to mumy holding his comb and said:
mumy, i kenot comb my hair nice nice woh !!!

Actually this lil fella is trying to make his way (or finding excuse) to play with water on his hair!! Initially, i did not realised his intention of wanting to wet his hair with water. I only told him his hair was already neat, why did he wanted to comb his hair nicer? Mumy don't get him, so he just proceeded with his plan. Little brother-Scot lead his koko-Sean upstair to the room & executed their "plan".............

Minutes later, Scot ran to me with his sweetest smile & of course his newly designed hairstyle. I almost choke & burst myself into a good laugh seeing his super "AH BENG" hairstyle. Then behind came his koko Sean also with his creation of hairstyle. See....Scot preferred to comb it flat to the right and Sean preferred to the left.....hehehe !!

Haiii, don't know to laugh or not with their cunning characteristics ???!!!

"Our" 1st BARBEQUE during mid autumn.........

"Yeah.....we heard so many people talked about "BARBEQUE" ........finally we had our taste of it! But we scared of the fire & the heat lah......"

Yes, the boys indeed knew what bbq means (i guess to cook food lar) but they enjoyed playing the candles & lanterns with their cousins more! They actually explored a lot with fire this time around........i doubt if it was a good thing? But i took the opportunity to explain a lot about handling fire........hopefully it served as a lesson!
Btw, the bbq was among our siblings & their families at mom's house!

It has been quite sometime we had our last bbq & the preparation part was no easy man.....

Marinated & wrapped the fish....."kampung" & "pari" were the selections........

Lighting up the charcoal was also a challenging task...........no experienced 'scout' around in d family, hehehe!!

Below was the main "sifu" that grilled us wonderful chicken wings, fishes & etc.....that's why u see my sis rewarded him below............hahaha !!

Next was the 'drinker' couple........3rd sis & huby !!!
Curry squid
Sweet potatoe
Mrs. Yee (sis's MIL) cooked us her speciality again..........ASAM LAKSA, fuwah......this was so superb !!
The kids' meal.

This will be the final party of this year's mid autumn. It was hectic, tiring but definitely a memorable period for us!!

Lantern Festival Part 2-Pesta Tanglung Muhibbah TMP

It was the first Lantern Fiesta organised by the housing community where my parents stayed in Puchong. It looked to me that lots of sweat & effort poured into making this event a success. The fiesta was indeed "BIG" in many ways.......VIPs invited, huge participants, varieties of pot luck foods, activities, games, lucky draws, prizes, parades, karaoke singing & etc etc.........

It was held at the housing recreation park where the twins visited almost every other evening....

Before the event started, there were games organised for the kids!! My 'chicken' boys finally participated in the game once they'd comfortably watched the 1st round of game & got themselves some pressie !!!

Initially, I had a bit of under estimated the food that would be served as our dinner tonite but I was definitely wrong this time. Though it was all under the voluntary pot luck style but I was simply impressed with the "varieties".........you go check out !!! NO SPONSOR, all out of the good deed pockets of the communities, some cooked themselves, some buy......i salute them......at least i know my own housing community wouldn't be able to do that!!

But then as all the hungry "US" waited & waited for the organiser to blow the whistle so that the hungry stomach could be fulfilled, we were all "forced" to WAIT & WELCOME some super VIP guests. Waited & waited.....the clock striked 7:30, not even the shadow was sighted. Arghhh, i think i'm not the only one cursing them, hehe..........slightly after 7:35, yeah finally heard MC mentioned the arrival of a member of parlimen, state assemblyman & bla bla bla !! BUT, still have to wait......committee chairman speech, Y.B. speech & etc etc..........aduh, it was such a torture I can tell you!! Hate the feeling coz it made me feel as though i'm one of those 'dumb' that couldn't afford a dinner for my kids..... But since the food looked so drooling & my twins were happily enjoying themselves making friends, I "pei min"/gave face & sacrificed a bit also worth lar....... When all the VIPs finished with their craps & the MC announced : "you may begin with the food"........you can imagine all those hungry ghost rushing, ouch....such an unsighty scene !!

But luckily, the foods were really in a very handy quantum, so guess everyone had a full stomach, i even saw some packing home the unfinished foods !! So, lets check out....

Curry puff, sponge cakes, jelly moon cakes.............

Spaghetti...........looks drooling ehh? There were also various version of Curry chicken.....

Fried mee hoon, pastries & cakes................

Kuih - Muih

Satay pun ada lar..........

Malaysian all time favourite............nasi lemak bungkus !!

Cakes & Pastries..........

Nicely cut & pack fruits & junkies...........

My favourite jelly moon cakes.........

Nothg special.....all know it's hard boiled eggs but SPONSORed by my mom mah.....hehehe

Half way through eating, my cheeky Scot managed to caught a glimpse of the arrival of the below monster..........haha, the Mr. Clown!! Guess what? While all the other kids were thrilling welcoming his arrival, my 'chicken' boys ran & ran & ran their life away from this creature that they were so damn afraid of. Sean wasn't that bad........sooner he became warmed up & approached him for a 'sword' balloon but not with Scot. He was extremely frightened that he remained at his hiding place for a long 5 minutes & was so reluctant to get near him though he yearned for the sword balloon so much. After much persuasion & convincing, he still refused. Then as the last call, I said I will carry him along as I told him Mr. Clown will not give mumy the balloon if the doesn't followed. Out of no choice, he agreed........clinging to my waist so hard, oh my boy!!

There were also lantern competition & lucky draw but I was too exhausted to even bother to participate. The boys were running around the park, both d maid & me were so tired of chasing & looking after them !! So, tomorrow first half of Sunday will be a recuperating time before attending another lantern party at night !!!

A Saturday without dady...........

Unusual Saturday coz dady was not around, dady was in Hanoi holidaying !!! Maggie yiyi came over our home on Friday night to touch up some work on her wedding slides & slept over too. So since we all so free, we just tagged along Mag's schedule. Went over to the tailor to get some table clothings done, breakfast & had a brief re-charged at Mag's condo later. Soon, we headed out for another appointment, that's selecting Mag's bridal & evening gown for her upcoming wedding in Nov-07. I knew ahead that with the boys along, it would be another havoc but Mag can't find anyone to give a 2nd opinion and so the rest needless to mention...............
Before the customer service staff was ready to serve us, we proceeded to browse the selections. And mumy began her photography actions despite the prohibition sign below........hehehehe !!!

See before the actual trying of the gowns, the boys already in their stunts................arghhh !!!

It was yet another occasion with mumy unwillingly "yelling" & "shouting" so much to bring the boys in control, chase & chase.......until drop dead tiring !! So after done, Mag yiyi treated us to Swensen & the twins had their KING sized nuggets, spaghetti and not forgetting their core products ice-creams !!

Reached home almost 4pm.......quickly forced the boys to rest for the lantern fiesta that night!!
