New Wet Market - Puteri Mart

THE STAR quoted:

PUCHONG’S first private wet market complex is now open at Puteri Mart in the Bandar Puteri township. The spacious, clean, and airy complex comprises a wet market section, shop lots, a food court, and a mini market selling sundry goods, herbs, and dry seafood.

It was FRESH from the owen. The newly open FIRST wet market in Puchong that operates from 7am to 10:30pm. After passing by this place for the past 1 to 2 weeks since it first operated, we had finally paid it a visit.

Tonight we decided to dine our dinner at the food court. It was really an overwhelming sight to see the food court crowded despite not many people at the wet stalls. Obviously, the wet stalls were not really having good business.....so i hope time would do you better!

Here's what the food court has been name : NICE TO EAT .......what a name huh!!!

What I'm impressed was, it may only be a few weeks old but the varieties choice of foods were so tremendous, ranging from Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, Portugese & etc etc!!!
It was really worth a visit.......
And i was so crazy when i saw my favourite there........u know the "chue tou thong"(pepper pig organ soup)......yummilicious !!!!

Just one short sentence "we will definitely drop by more................coz it's less than 5 min from our home" !!!!

come come KL/PJ "lang" come.... puchong faster.......it's booming !!!!

""Foreign"" guests...

I better do some rectification to the word "foreign" coz it apparently doesn't sound nice as it has another meaning of "strange". So here it goes.....not somebody strange definitely, but it was the family members of the "Wong/Ong/Heng"......???? confuse????.....stories later........
It was huby's 4th aunty or FIL's sister (aunt Anne), d 'ang moh' huby (uncle Bob) & their only princess (Christine).......The O'Connor family from Darwin, Australia!

Btw, huby's family despite supposingly having the same SUR name but due to the stupidity of those govtn officer working in the registration department then, all the SUR names was registered differently. Ever wonder what's the chinese pronounciation of the SUR name Heng? Of course it never cross my mind until the faithful day i met "him"!! So there he told me it was "WONG" in Cantonese, then in Hokkien they pronounce it as "ONG" & for the Teochew they call it "HENG" "pulak", i couldn't be botherd but i just learnt to accept it...........!!! So, that's why among my FIL's siblings there were Wong, Ong, Heng within the very SAME family........ Funny heh????

If i didn't recall wrongly, it was about 7 years ago that I first met the O'Connor family. They were back to MY then for our 'big day' i.e. marriage!! How we appreciated that!

This time they are dropping by MY for a whole week of good catch up in KL & of course back in the hometown AlorSetar before continuing their journey for a holiday vacation in various parts of China & HongKong afterwhich they will be back to KL again for a transit to S'pore & Darwin.

Hearing the good news that they are visiting, i thought i better inform my boys ahead so that they don't get too strange........upon hearing uncle bob is visiting us,
Scot asked: mumy, uncle bob same as BOB THE BUILDER ahh? Aiyo....dun know how to answer.....so i just giggle, ignore, say 'no la'. Then mumy explained....uncle bob is blablabla.... very super tall & he's a 'white people'....i'm only trying to differentiate that he's not of our asian skin colour......but 'mana tau' their imagination can be so outlying !!!???
After a short pause, the boys responded: mumy, no i dun want to meet the 'white people' (with a bit of scare face)! I asked them why? Then, they said: i scared of mr.clown !!! alamak alamak........obviously they over thought.....they thought the face is colored white.......bwahahahahaha!!! Now, i know i have used the wrong word!! Then, of course i quickly rectified la.......

When they finally met......i could say that children dun see skin color as different!!! They clicked right away!!

Full of thoughtfulness, we were greeted with great gifts & souvenirs..........
Mango wain....doesn't that makes one anxious & curious to try a sip??? But we have not tried it yet......still very very curious!!

These were obviously not to bribe us........

Next are some interesting books..................

See how much the boys enjoyed exploring the colorful pictures of the pages!!

Finally, the boys also got a set of very CUTE singlet & boxer!
Maybe Aunty Anne has not met the boys & not so aware of their sizes and so the boys look so "SEXY" due to d small size i mean !!! I especially like to see my Sean wearing it coz he is more 'meaty' so it was damn luring..... u know........!!!

During the tea session at our little cosy home, huby made some mushroom cheese toast, prawn salad & red bean dessert where he actually blended the beans....it tasted much better that way......so everyone enjoyed that very much!!

After enough of exploring our little home, we had a dinner session in a nearby restaurant. Besides the special guests, there were also other "yee ma, ku cheh, luk suk or chat suk" visited i.e. aunt Maria & son Andrew, uncle andrew, aunt Janice, cousins Tricia & Nicholas also came.........And my SIL family also joined in the dinner so that made up to 2 tables to fit everyone!

Here are the "leng lui(s)" !!

Not to forget all the "leng sou(s)" also:

Then on one of the week day, as they were in KL finishing up with some visa documentation work, they dropped by Suria KLCC for a shopping & a lunch appointment with me. Huby joined & treated them to the hot & popular place in Suria KLCC, Madam Kwan. After lunch, it wouldn't be complete if one does not step his foot on our Petronas Twin Towers. To avoid all the hassle going up the towers as "visitor" (by queing for d limited ticket, adhereing to the strict visiting schedule & etc), I brought them up as corporate visitor.
Of course it was wonderful viewing KL city at a height of few thousand feet above ground level. We stopped by a while at the bridge level for phototaking session & proceeded to take a peek over what to expect on the look of those offices paying the most expensive rental in Malaysia.

We were left with wonderful memories indeed !!!

Last Friday, mumy spoilt "you two monster" again as i could not bear with your persistant persuasion to own the Transformer......thanx to all the advertiser on the TV, megazines & etc!!
I never thought of why the character was named as such until i see with my own eyes how it transforms from a gigantic stupid robot to a cool sporty car !!!

Very Own Sarawak Laksa

Finally i've got to try our "home cooked" Sarawak Laksa which was cooked by mom using the special spices (photo here) that huby bought when he was in Sarawak recently. Well, the taste of course was not that superb as i've expected coz.....my mom was not a very creative & imaginative cook!!
With the spices, she just added chicken bone to boil the soup, then add coconut milk & other side toppings (vege, chic meat, fishball, tofu) !!! The laksa soup turned out to be very oily on the surface.......chocked the hell out of me !!! You go check out yourself...........

After scooping out the top layer of oil bit by bit, the bowl of sarawak laksa noodle looks like this............i reckon that the look was OKAY woh...........though the taste????? errrg, better not complaint so much.......after my sis "gold finger poke my back" !!!!

And now we still have another pack of the 'spices' left in our shelf which i wonder when we will do this cooking again??? My mom already said she won't try this anymore coz she found the taste a bit weird.......u know la, having consumed only curry laksa & asam laksa for her entire life, it's kinda hard to expect an easy adaptation, after all old woman ma !!! Ask her to eat raw salad lagi worst!!
But then the next time would be my huby's turn to show off his skill, we'll see how then...............

Nah, don't get turn away by the laksa.....................go please your vision with these pics........emmm yummy yummy!!!!

SHARK FIN SOUP

I seriously don't know what is this call in english. In cantonese the direct translation is "Shuet Kap Kou" which i was conned that it was the frog's saliva.........don't know how true???

Cruel Lesson

Yesterday morning being a Monday Blue, my 2 naughty boys were extremely naughty! We were already late in the morning but they still did not cooperate!! Refusing to get into the car, one of them (i also forgot which one) whinned & whinned, asking to get back to the house & the other fella joined his brother to boicott going to school!! Despite many times dady persuaded & the fact that dady oredi raised his voice, they still don't get the alarm. We got so annoyed & dady said close the door.......mumy & "kakak" obliged! Then, dady slowly moved his car out of the car porch.........the boys didn't react, then no choice dady said give them a lesson. Off dady pressed the button of the auto gate remote & the gate slowly closed up.
I looked at the 2 naughty & see if they will run out to the gate to stop us BUT 'NO', they just watched blankly & maybe with disbelief !!!

So, off the car went..........................but of course dady only intended to make a round to the next street within our housing garden which would take about a minute or two to get back to our own house!!! We were anxious........very anxious how would they react this time????

Our maid said......"aiyoh mam mesti nangis ni!!" True enough, the moment our car approaches our front gate, I already saw the 2 naughty standing in front of the gate......................................& the nearer we were, the clearer we heard their cries...............!!!

Both of them cried & yelled : dady, dady, dady, dady...............dun know if dady's heart break or not but my heart was definitely painful !!! Immediately i ran out of the car, Sean ran straight to open the car door & Scot ran straight to mumy!!

No doubt it was indeed a very symphaty sight (seeing them screaming as if for "help" to release them from a 'lokap') but we all still managed a good laughs & giggles!!! Upon seeing us laughing, Sean immediately stop his cries & looked down feeling shy & know he has been tricked by dady but poor Scot continued crying & was really scared the hell off. He hugged me & sat on my lap d whole journey!!!

It was cruel, dady & mumy was bad but hope you boys learnt the lesson though..........the hard way!! We said sorry to them anyway !!!

Guess the monday blues...........was the result of the happiness & craziness they encountered the night before when WE feasted another father's day dinner!!
Scot the ultraman!

A feature of my sis with her cutie boy, nicholas!!
This was really super excellent!!
And the thousand island prawn was good too!

Especially this one.........the mushroom cheese toast.........everyone was not enough of eating that!! But we knew that we got to make space for other good foods so we bear with it.....maybe bcoz we hungry also la..........

See la...........if not hungry, what you call that...............plain bread with butter also they walloped so much !!! But hor, don't know why the bread that we use to bought from the shelf never tasted so nice...........

Half way through our main course, we already 80% full.............so we MUST drop our idea for dessert !!! The 2 notties already acted out their superman stunts & distracted not only us but also other guests.......so we gotto finish up as quick as possible & no sweet time !!!

Lastly, hope everyone enjoy a celebration this weekend & not to forget that daddy needs your greatest sweet greetings/gifts in whatever way & of course a peck if that's your culture but of course not ours la...........Happy Father's Day!!

Last Minute House Warming

It was a last minute decision to held d house warming party last Saturday (9/6) for mom's new house. It took only a week to organise everything. Since it was still a school holiday week, mom actually intended to ease the hassle of some relatives who would travelled all d way from Ipoh to attend d party without disturbing the schedule of their school-going children. So they came a day earlier on Friday, got some rest & after d party, they can still rest before departing back to Ipoh on Sunday!
And here are the host of the party..........dad & mom!

Next, would be our guests from Ipoh............dad's cousin brothers & sisters with the same SIR name i.e. LAI

Despite having a full catering food, mom decided to add to the menu by cooking "asam laksa"! Alamak OMG........I know it was just a common meal & no big deal BUT BUT BUT let me explain first. Could you believe if i say i have never savour any asam laksa that i know is cook by my mom for the past 30 years or should i say my entire life??? Do you know what does that simply mean??......yeah mom has NEVER cook asam laksa before BUT what crossed her mind that she wanted to cook that???? I really dun know..... Now we are not talking about cooking for 5 or 10 person but here it's going to be over 100 guests!!! And which mean she's going to do a "trial & error session???? we shake shake shake & shake our heads !!!!
Despite our objection, disagreement, criticism &...... cursing, she insisted with her decision....yeah i've a damn stubborn & super confident mom!! I said okay, we'll see how it goes........just hope that embarassment could be minimised !!!

Anyhow, i believe God sent her "an angel"......as she was chating on d phone with my 3rd sister's MIL (Mrs. Yee) & relaying her intention to cook asam laksa, Mrs. Yee instantly offered to help her cook........................wooohooo & yeah......for all of us!! Not knowing that Mrs. Yee was so good with her asam laksa, it eventually turned out to be so welcoming!! No doubt, i could see that pressure in her was no way to avoid !! The 2 big pots were 90% finished up !!! TQ TQ Mrs Yee.

And i couldn't believe i actually forgot to snap a pic of Mrs.Yee on that night........am so regret, but to give credit on her effort, i should show it...........though this was taken on another occasion (the one in white blouse):

After the much talked about asam laksa, lets take a review of the buffet selection. Most people gave an above average satisfaction over the food & i just couldn't agree more with it!!

Gosh........looks like most of my posts were all filled up with pics of food, food & food !! Is my life really that bored or was it considered colourful???? One thing for sure, d stomach must be cursing me like hell for making it overhaul..........& the "body fats" like me & chase after me so much.....been refusing to leave despite me shooing it away so hard !!!

Enough of talking about food, lets check out some boring faces now or maybe u managed to find some "leng lui" or "leng chai" to please your eye balls........?????

My mumy's karaoke kakis/buddies:

My cousins..................

My aunties & uncles.....................

Sisters & nieces.........

This "kina(/budak in teo chew)" ah moi......one of my sis......only busy barking me to snap her here & there after putting loads of colours on her face & dressed herself up for her fren's wedding dinner on d same nite !!! After finish snapping......cabut kaput........lost sight of her edi.......

To end d story, just wanna thank my man for helping up a lot............................................................
after whacking up so much, his stomach sent a message to his brain telling him that he needs a workout & there he went to grab a broom.........started to sweep & clean d car porch !!!
