(A) CARROT & ALMOND CAKE
While the cake might look DRY, trust me.....it was fragrant & tasty when serve HOT & WARM....esp if the cake is moist & soft enough (means generous portion of butter). I had decided to put away the idea of decorating every bake of mine......unless if the occassion deemed necessary!! Else, i think by savouring it plainly with a cup of good coffee or english tea is already a heavenly treat, no ??!!!!
Initially I was very obsessed with those beautiful, attractive & artistic decor of cupcakes and i wanted so much to give my hands a try on it. But both huby & my parents got a bit concern with sweetness of those frosting/icing topping/buttercream....... At the sametime, i also began to realise how important for the cake to not just look nice at the frontal but equally important (if not more) to TASTE "GOOD" inside!! So while i will continue to try my best to pick up the decorating skills as much as my capability could afford, i will take more precautions in ensuring that our home made cakes are "less" health-harzardous (can't say healthy) yet tasty overall.....haha, what a challenge ehh !!
(B) "CEMPEDAK" CAKE
btw, any idea what's 'cempedak' in english?
During our recent trip to Bukit Tinggi, we stumbled upon lots of 'cempedak' fruit on sale....not sure if it's season though! And boy.......the sweetness of the flesh was beyond words!! My mom bought 3 big pieces of it. My huby was very eager about me baking the 'cempedak' cake that he reminded me & mom again & again to keep some for that!! Mom this time finally acknowledged my baking passion (maybe after trying out my nice carrot cake above...haha) and kept a box of 'cempedak' for the mission!
Sprinkled with some icing sugar.
Here you go......the whole house also smell 'cempedak' during the baking session. U can imagine how strong was the 'cempedak' smell !!!!
..... Yum yum .....
so which one you like ??
