Our 2007 X'MAS activities.........

I know.... I know... X'mas was already OVER.......but i was just too busy to do my updates as this year was just so exceptional !!! I've never been so busy with X'mas but this year, there were just so many events & functions to attend.......so instead of polluting my blog with more x'mas related posts, i'll just slot everything in at one go !!

20-21 December 2007
Ah Kung has much earlier conveyed his intention of visiting Genting Highland during the last Hari Raya Haji holiday (20/12) so my good 'lou kung' knowing that little request like this came very unusual, so he 'die-die' also must get a room despite the super peak season on that day. So there, booking was secured for Resort World hotel......paying unreasonably high price...RM305 for a deluxe room but the amenities & atmosphere of the room didn't failed to impress us !!

For those who didn't have a chance to climb up there, here's the preview of the x'mas atmosphere in Genting....very beautiful too!

As it was the wet & rainy season, we didn't go out to the outdoor theme park but only stayed put at the First World indoor theme park. It wasn't the boys' first time there so they were quite familiar with some of the rides.

BUT All i wana highlight this time was that the boys had to reluctantly say Good Bye to

RIDE de PARIS !

It was such a heart wrenching moment to see them so excitedly looking forward to the car rides but only to be dissapointed by the rejection, reason being the boys had exceeded the maximum height limit !!!

Sean threw a very bad tantrum,...... as only after a long queue up, the boys came to know that they were rejected for the rides. I got very very angry too as it was only a "MERE" 2cm and yet they could be so cruel to the little ones who were then crying & yerning. After much bargaining & disturbances to the queue behind, the staffs were still not giving way so both huby & my face were really "black" !

We actually had to 'pulled' Sean out................ and as we were too furious, we yelled to them to.. 'fly kite'....arghhh !!

Later in the day, we actually passed this place several times & the boys were so matured....they didn't even look back at this place anymore, hahaha....

We are 'OK', mumy said it's just that we have grown up a little...... !!!

For the rest of the day, dady accompanied the boys for all other rides/games while mumy (didn't wana waste money on the rides) went shopping ALL ALONE.....it was such a luxurious moment for ME !! Ah Kung & Ah Ma were busy in the casino......

Isn't the below lightings & the gigantic sock beautiful??

With a blink of eyes, the fun day at the theme park has to end in the late afternoon as all of us needed a re-charge.....plus we missed the nice hotel room too!!

At night, we visited AH YAT 'kor' to eat this........drooling leh???

On our way back the next afternoon, we dropped by at one of the temple located approximately 15 mins from the hilltop. I'm sure many of you are just like me, this place has been there many many years ago and since our very first visit, we have been ignoring this place!! And boy....to my surprise, the place has been developed so much & definitely worth another visit if you have not been there for a while!

The boys with mumy!

I can't recall exactly how long was my last visit but i do believe it has to be at least 5 years ago so below were some of the attractions that caught my eyes.....

To see all 18 levels of the 'hell', one needs to reach the top of the man-made mountain but we gave up after reaching the 10th level so didn't managed to see the rest of the 8 levels.....
haha, if only you believe this, huh???

That morning itself we had a late breakfast at the Hainan kitchen and by the time we headed down the hill, our stomach was actually still full. So, the only reason my huby went for a walk at the above temple area was to consume up some of our energy and to burn of some calories.............reason was simply because he was planning to eat the famous "LOH MEE" at Ulu Yam (exact spot would be nearby the main train station). We did asked around for direction & by the time we found the restaurant, our stomach was "slightly" ready to work..........

It's a little different from what i used to eat, which is the white type but over at Ulu Yam, the 'loh mee' was the black type. It didn't dissapoint us though.....yummy yummy!!

23 December 2007

We attended a Christmas party at huby aunt's house in Kepong! There were 2 x'mas parties invitation for us this year which were not an annual thingy so our x'mas this year was definitely more meaningful, joyful & cheerful !! A Carole singing session was arranged by the aunty's church members but unfortunately they didn't managed to get the santa claus in so the kids were slightly upset.

Dady found a VIP spot (a study table with air-cond) for the boys to eat!!

Christmas eve.....24 December 2007

We had a simple thanks giving dinner this year. We were both too busy to search for a nice hotel for buffet dinner and we didn't want to burn our pocket too much..... so ended up, we did nothing until the very last minute decided to try the newly opened Shilla Korean buffet dinner at The Curve. There really isn't much that i wana talked about the restaurant as well as the food so i suppose you could guess my ratings !!

Christmas 25 December 2007

Before we attended the 2nd x'mas party around lunch, we dropped by at 1Utama for a light breakfast snack. Needless to mention, there was another incredibly beautiful decor of x'mas at 1Utama !!

This time the party was hosted by huby's god parents, the Soon family (also PIL's old friends back in ASetar).

We were also entertained with the Carole singing session and this time, the crowd was even bigger and guess what, the boys finally got to see the Santa Claus..........and i was quite surprise they were not in fear this time, haha !!

I particularly like the little white angel at the top of the x'mas tree!!!
Received "your" card today.....lovely, thanks !!!
Here are 2 very lively videos to share with you .......

This was definitely a much more MERRIER X'Mas than before and the best we've had thus far !!!

Till then, we shall catch up again next year !! The Heng family is here to wish you a

Very Happy New Year 2008 with loads of good health, wealth & laughter!!!

Happy " DONG ZHI "

Postings about this festival " DONG ZHI " / Winter Solstice were seen lying everywhere in the blogsphere!! My family was no exception in throwing a celebration in receiving this happy day!! I remember some elderly folks mentioned that in China, this festival could be bigger than the 1st day of CNY !!!
Though, not all my sisters could gather for the celebration in my parents' home, i believe my parents were more than happy to just have 3 of their daughters back home with 2 sons in law & grandchildren!! As my 2 other married sisters are staying with their in laws (who so happened to be having d same celebration too at their home), PRIORITY of choice usually goes to the husband's side when it comes to selection on which sides of the family to go to during big celebration like this !!! How i just hate this unfair & favouritism practice......
Anyway, the dining table was full of dishes, thanks to the chef of our home (none oth than my mom of course).....very typical of the cantonese flavours, ......i.e.
steamed chicken (pak cham kai) with spring onion+coriander leafs+soya sauce
roasted duck
stir fried "nga ku" with "kan choi" & green peas wrap by "sang choi"
sweet & sour chillies prawns
but accompanied with RED WINES.....haha !!
(finally our mango wine from Darwin, Aust was well consumed....hehe)

And that's not enough.....we "ta pao" CRABs too........wahh, sooong ahh !!

But then, funnily how come there is no sight of the signature dish of 'DONG ZHI' leh????
i.e. "tong yuen"/glutinous rice balls soup......coz it does not worth a capture by my camera !!! Very unfortunately, my younger sister was WRONGLY entrusted with the task of making that important dish & it turned out to be so horrible.......the balls almost looked like "pan mee" & the soup was so tick like glue !!!! tsk tsk tsk......"memang tak guna punya"(simply useless) !!
Now i missed what i could have done .......
H A P P Y " D O N G Z H I " and hope you had a good one too!!

MY new toys....

Current laptop has already aged about 3 years ++.......still functioning except that the screen has started to dim down intermittently and at times i had to rely on a desktop monitor for the output !!! Since organization usually depreciated computer asset within a 3 years period, i know it was time for a replacement request. There goes....request was put forth....and good news was coincidently the management has also budgetted for PCs upgrades for overseas offices....yeah.....everyone got so excited & eager !! Waited & waited......3 months passed & it soon reached 6 months......anyhow, it was worth the wait, finally last week, i was greeted with the following parcel that morning........

Our DELL laptops have finally arrived..... individual boxes customised to each stuff's needs!! (the engineer prefers smaller size while i prefer the bigger screen, thus bigger size)

What surprises us was they came with a separate LCD screen.............isn't it ***wow*** ??!!

Love my new gadgets.......

How nice.....working can be all refreshing again........heh heh heh yet for how long, that's a question to answer !!

On a separate note, we did something very 'crazy' last Sunday.....

On a usual account, i am that particular person who would 'curse' those people who would queue long......i mean real long, just to purchase something!!! I would not give in to such demand on queue as i always believe there's always something better else where!!!

But but but, this time....my huby was exceptionally 'kepoh'....or curious as to why these little 'wheels' created such a long queue??? To solve his nagging queries i made an exception this time...yes, i queued with him !!

REVIEW :

no doubt quite good....and i shall be back ......only if i can be spared of the "queue"!!

A Lousy Mommy......

Remember one of the day last week was a public holiday for Selangor state while the KL folks needed to work? Yes, i was one of those who was so blur & lived in my own world. Coincidental, my huby was away from town so i was left to do the chauffeur jobs! And i have to carry the sound sleeping handsome(s) to the car.......boy.....there were so heavy now!!!

My boys' daycare happened to be in Selangor so obviously i overlooked the fact that the babysitter was supposed to be on holiday! But being unaware, i still sent my boys to the kindy only to find out the actual fact!

When i saw the gate & door all tightly locked, i knew somethg was not right....I was like....Oh my god....i really hated myself then....knowing i got no other choice but to rush to the back up ....i.e. send the boys to my parents!! As my parents were at the market, i parked my car nicely and ready to get the boys to go down!!

BUT guess what happened next ??????????????????

Another......OH MY GOD.......!!!

When i carried the boys up to the car, i forgot their SHOES!!! They can't walk & i can't be carrying two of them.......how how how leh??

I immediately called my dad & asked my dad to buy 2 pairs of slippers (size for 6 yo).....cheap cheap will do! Then after abt 5 mins of wait at the car, my dad arrived with 2 pairs, one size 11 & one size 13 !!! My eyes ROLL big big ...... this old man must have forgotten it was his twins grandsons.....how in d world can he be getting 2 different sizes for the 2 little feet of the same size???? So, there he goes.....for a change of the size!! We waited for another long 10 minutes!

Then, dad came back with different slippers pulak coz he said the previous ones don't have 2 pairs of same size! So he got the 'japanese type' slippers for the boys!

Now we learnt to keep a pair of shoes in the boot of the car!!

Initially, when the boys saw the cartoon charactors on the slippers, they got excited & loved it. So they put them on & walked along with my dad. But then as it was their first time experiencing wearing these type of slippers, their little toes had difficulties gripping the slippers tight for a smooth journey so my mom said they later complaint of not wanting to wear the slippers!! Sean even cried for another pair but my mom ignored his usual unreasonable demand and diverted his attention. For the rest of their day..........as i was working, i chose not to know, hahaha !!

Boys....sorry boys, you've got a super lousy mommy !!

What we did on 15/Dec/2007...

What's so special about this date...heh? If it made you curious, walk with me & find out......
EVE of 15/Dec
After work, we decided to check out the happenings at The Curve after reading the interesting line up of events in the newspaper as well as after seeing some interesting photos from annie’s blog.
And I can’t agree more that the X’mas atmosphere was so far the best that I’d ever encountered! The pictures will tell a thousand words……..no other festival can compare to X’mas, it was just impressive & fabulous!

Initially, we were still undecided on what to dine but once huby drove pass the entrance & had a glance over Tony Roma's, he immediately made up his mind. Accordingly to him this place was long famous in S’pore & as usual Msia is always the laid back one…..since it’s here already, we will have to give it a try!! Food….good, yumm yumm, not at all bad !!

15/dec begins with the MORNING .....
The sunlight pierced thru our window burning my lazy butt till I couldn’t continue my sleep thus decided to wake up at 8:30 in d morning! While the rest were still fast asleep….peaceful blogging was the only thing I could think of doing. But I was only able to blog for about an hour when my little boy greeted me from behind. Then, probably due to twins’ instinct, the lil guy got the other half woke up too and I bathed & changed them. Soon we started our journey….

Had dim sum brunch….it was a great one and this morning, the boys had a NEW encountering! Guess what, as we had our usual favourite… ‘chicken feet’, the boys decided to give it a try….probably they were seriously curious as to why the adults ate such stuffs!! Once they tasted them, they finished the rest in no time. I bet they found it interesting & challenging to slowly munch the little-little bones along with the juicy skin+meat…….oopppss….uncle bob, hopefully we didn't make u ‘puke’ as I know u will pass them on…..u know lar, “ang moh” don’t eat these stuffs wan…..hahaha !!!

AFTERNOON
We then proceeded to Setapak to hunt for the boys’ school bags…..due to the power of the advertisement !! What ????????????? driving all the way from Puchong to Setapak for school bags for a 6Years old kid????? YES, that’s how crazy and mad the twins’ dady could be when it comes to his precious!!! He said there will be more choices……while I don’t mind joining the crazy gang!

In fact, the vast choices nearly got the boys struggled with their decision. Finally, they went for the ‘batman’ ones & dady got one back pack to replace the ‘baby bag’ that has spoilt. We named it ‘baby bag’ as it carries the boys’ necessities since birth during travelling….(bottles, wet & dry tissue, hanky, first aids, diapers, extra pants etc).

Since we were already nearby, we intended to check out the place called “LOOK OUT POINT” ….Selangor’s only forest reserve…from yenlin’s blog. But but but, huby turned round & round…only managed to find the ‘little genting hill’ but failed looking for the place. As it was already late, we decided to leave it for another time….sigh !! The boys then went for their drama class at 3pm after which we headed back for a much needed rest…but as usual they boys still refused to nap…..

Then, just as we were ready to head out for dinner, the two monkey fell asleep on the floor mattress. We allowed them to only nap for 15mins & off huby thrown them into the car.

NIGHT
Jeng…jeng…jeng……here’s the HIGHLIGHT of the day!
The place we had our dinner…..was suppose to be a place for a sweet & calm candle light dinner as the ambiance was so quiet & cozy BUT tagging along the monkeys just killed all the romantic mode!!! Yet i must give credits to my boys this time as they were EXCEPTIONALLY good at the dining table tonite.....yeah !!!

Both huby & I missed this place so much & had LOOOOOOONG desired to dine there but…I also don’t know why & how come we never make it possible all these years! We were trying out our luck as we were not sure if the restaurant is still in operation…….but thank god, it survives through the years !!!

8 YEARS AGO, this was the restaurant huby FIRST treated me to a dinner! As he was still in the process of ‘wooing’, naughty ‘me’ didn’t agreed to going out with him alone but I brought along 2 of my girlfriends to ‘wat’/force on him a real good treat, hehehehehe…….. but of course, not long his efforts paid off lar…

Now, lets give a little review on the restaurant & food……
What's so special about this rest....it was not purely the unique history behind the restaurant, but more so because this restaurant serves SWISS food. Now, i bet you would agree with me, we could count with one hand the number of such rest in KL. So it was kinda difficult to savour SWISS food in KL. Then, I must compliment all the foods we tried so far as they were so satisfying and sumptuous even to the fussy taste bud of my dear huby!!

I noticed the Swiss used lots of garlic, cheese & milk in their menu and most of their dish came with steamed spinach, mushrooms & baked potatoes as side dishes….they looked very healthy to me. And these mildly tasted side dishes went so well with the luring gravies !!!

We had our memorable dinner tonight as we sang our 6th anniversary lullabies while recalling our sweet memories!!

We walked the “HARD WAY’ all along & down the aisle.
We faced all obstacles in fighting for the love & happiness we both wanted.
We are able to understand each other better after marriage & it proved to improve year by year.
We managed through our terrible parenting life together.
So moving forward, all I hope is for the good things to become better & to maintain things we’d done best !! I strongly believe the importance of both husband’s & wife’s continued effort in contributing & improving the relationship as a married couple in order to LAST a ‘happy marriage’…….so I vow to perform my part & hope you would too !!

H A P P Y 6TH A N N I V E S A R Y dear and many more to come !!!

Lots of luv…
